Tom Wright

Tom is a London based composer, music producer and recording engineer who is passionate about creating music and exploring new sounds. Tom’s musical output is based on a background of classical training (piano and trumpet) and self-taught music production. He specialises in bringing electronic elements into music, and is a capable producer across a wide range of genres; including dance music, pop, experimental and ambient soundscapes.

Tom has recently spent a lot of the past year working on a series of tracks inspired by disco, Motown, funk and soul music. These original works aim to capture some of the essence of these classic styles, combining them with new techniques and Tom’s own personal flair. He also produces original electronic music and works hard to incorporate new genres and techniques into his output.

Tom especially loves the music of acts such as Daft Punk, Orbital, Tycho, Gesaffelstein and Everything Everything (to name a few!), but is also influenced by music with less electronic elements, in particular the work of musicians such as George Gershwin, Thelonious Monk and Nile Rodgers.

When he’s not producing, Tom enjoys keeping fit, DJing and reading. He is particularly interested in philosophy and aesthetics in music.
